Welcome to our adventure!
Finally a website that almost works, and has some content!
It's been some time in coming, due mostly to our amateur web skills - which are clearly still visible. But it's here despite that! 'It' being a travel journal of our trip around the world from March to October 2007.
So, take a look through our photos, meet some of our new and old friends or just catch up on old news in our archive to find out how we are doing. Please be patient with us if some of our news is a little old - unfortunately, internet cafes can sometimes be a little slow and few and far between. We are still working on our comments page, so will hopefully get that up and running soon.
The photo above was taken in Ha Long Bay, Northern Vietnam, in around early April. Ha Long Bay was one of the film locations for the James Bond movie 'The Man with the Golden Gun'. It's not suprising as the nearly 2000 limestone islands would make for a dramatic backdrop - we were half expecting an attack from the evil three-nippled Scaramanga himself!
But instead the only suffering we had was from the Ha Long Bay tour guides who get the "Chocolate Teapot" medal for their usefulness to the tour group!
There are officially four Irrawaddy Dolphins left...
We have just come from the 4000 Islands or Si Phan Don in the deep south of Laos where we were able to spot what we believe to have been four Irrawaddy Dolphins. We balanced ourselves on a tiny island (with very little shade) and waited around 20 minutes before they began to fish and play off the Cambodian shoreline. Unfortunately we were a little too far away to take good photos, so left the island with just good memories...and an interesting new shade of crimson skin.
Check out our pictures of Si Phan Don and other spots in Laos on our photo gallery...it was soooooooo green.
McNuggets news and opinions...
Our friend Catherine, who's been travelling with us for the last month left us last week for London. Farewell to our late night cards sessions over numerous BeerLao!
Also..
Congratulations to Vanessa and DJ Paz for the birth of their daughter Camille! We can't wait to meet her.
and, also..
Vientiane was officially the hottest city we have travelled through to date! We took refuge in any shop/store/office with aircon, which often meant long slow walks up and down pharmacy aisles, studying the ingredients in shampoos, headache tablets and slimming pills...who said travelling wasn't educational!
and, finally...
We're STILL stoked about the fact that the mighty Aberdeen Football Club qualified for the UEFA Cup after a thoroughly deserved 2-0 home victory over Rangers on the last day of the Scottish football season. Come on you reds!
Where are we now?
