The gory details...
Flight from Sydney to Christchurch. Rented a car and drove from Christchurch around the Banks peninsula and south to Methven. From Methven to Mount Cook, then south east to Dunedin, the Otago peninsula, down to Gore, Te Anau, then Milford Sound. From Milford Sound we headed north again to Queenstown, Wanaka, then hit the west coast at Haast. Then north past the glaciers to Greymouth, then inland to Hanmer Springs, and across to the east coast to Kaikoura. From there he went to Blenheim, then Nelson, then up to Abel Tasman national park and back to Picton for the ferry to Wellington.
From Wellington we went north to Paraparaumu, then Wanganui, then inland up past the volcanoes to Taupo, then Rotorua. We then headed east to Wairoa and Gisbourne, then up to Whakatane on the Bay of Plenty. After that at was the Coromandel peninsula then north past Auckland to the Bay of Islands, over to the west coast of Northland then back through Whangarei to Auckland.
