This was a bit of a whistle-stop tour, having spent almost all of our time in Queensland.

New South Wales can look a bit like "Old" South Wales in places. The pretty parts I mean - green valleys, rolling hills, farmland, sheep, etc. But no bara brith, male voice choirs, miners, call centres, etc. (Sorry Gemma) And definitely no Rugby Union. The fallacy of Australian rugby obsession is hereby OUTED. Rugby League is big. Aussie Rules footie is bigger. But despite a couple of mouthy sports journalists in the weekend press, nobody cares about Rugby Union.

We passed through the village of Aberdeen (see photo under 'Signs') which looked more like Chepstow actually. Horses, stables, gallops, studs, and the like. Not a hairy ginger alcoholic Aberdonian in site.

And Sydney I'm afraid wasn't given anywhere near the time it deserved, though it's a really impressive city. Modern, stylish, cosmopolitan and beautiful.
