Hoi An is a sleepy old colonial market town famed for its' silk, and now its' tourism.
We found a new guesthouse on the way to the beach, which had a pool!! Luxury we hadn't enjoyed before, nor since.
The beach was the best we saw in Vietnam. Although tourism on a grand scale is getting itself together, there are still plenty of wee shack restaurants behind the beach on the north side, with a few shaded loungers on the beach, and cold beer in the fridge.
We hooked up with Marty & Andrea on the bus into town, spending most of our time together. Very cool people. Martin's a filmmaker (and Andrea's a budding camerawoman) - check some of his stuff out, there's a link on the News page.
