Colca Canyon is impressive!

Not only is it one of the deepest canyons in the world, but it is also home to loads of little villages dotted within it.

And there aren't roads linking to all these villages.

The villagers are almost superhuman in their ability to climb the roughly 1000m straight upwards in less than an hour (40 minutes according to one of our guides).

The depth of the canyon also does not deter villagers from agricultural activities, with farming continuing on Incan and pre-Incan (more than 500 years old) terraces cut into the sides of the canyon. We were truly amazed at how some people live!
