If you go out to the desert today, you're in for a big surprise!

Travelling through the Atacama desert proved far from boring. To the contrary, it is full of history and art! As the Atacama was and still is exploited for mining, we were given the opportunity to view some of the impacts of the industry, for instance, the abandoned cemetery and the deserted train station.

Crossing the tropic of Capricorn..

We crossed the tropic for the second time on our travels, the first being a far less impressive drive through the town of Rockhampton in Australia.
