Would you like some salt with that?

Travelling through the Atacama salt flats is a surreal experience, there is simply no other way to describe it. This is some of the starkest scenery we've ever come across. The salt flats are weird - we picked up little salt rocks at threw them into the salt fields only to hear the salt crystals tinkle like glass as it broke.

The dryness of the air was immediately evident!

Our lips became ridiculously dried up, looking more like prunes, and chapping at the slightest smile.
